What is the minimum trade value I can buy?

Minimum trade value
The minimum parcel of shares you can buy in the market is $500 on new holdings (excluding brokerage) as per market rules, as our clients use their own HINs rather than a pooled account. This is known as the minimum marketable parcel.

If you already own shares say $1,000 of Company A you can buy Company A shares in portions that are below the $500 value.

e.g. buy $100 of Company A to increase your holding's value to $1,100.

If you did not already own shares in Company A you would have to buy a minimum of $500 (excluding brokerage).

Maximum trade value
The maximum trade value you can place before being referred to a Designated Trading Representative (DTR) for manual review is $150,000 (this is a 'soft' limit and as such, if you have the stock/funds available to trade the order will generally be approved).  This does not cause significant delay, but rather involves human intervention to check against factors such as available cash, before placing the order in the market.

At this stage, there is no direct-to-market orders for the NSX due to liquidity and pricing spreads, as such all NSX orders go to a DTR for prior approval.

Minimum holding period
There is no minimum holding period for shares so you may buy and sell the same holding on the same day.
